It's Back!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the 2009 NFL Eliminizer is underway.

Please read the official rules:

Each week you pick 1 team you think will win. If that team wins, you advance to the next week. If they don't, thanks for the entry fee. Note that a tie is not a win in any sense of the word. Therefore, if the team you pick ties, you're still out on your can.

Once you have selected a team you may not select that team again in subsequent weeks. Plan ahead!

The last man (or men) standing at the end win the pot.

Conclusion of the pool is determined by:

1 player remaining in the pool OR

All remaining players lose in the same week OR

The end of the regular season

If 1 player wins, he will win 100% of the pot.

If more than 1 player remains at the conclusion of the pool the following algorithm will be used to determine the GRAND prize winner:

Every player in the pool will have his 'Chicken Index' recorded. The 'Chicken Index' is calculated by cumulatively adding the number of points your chosen team is favoured by. For example let's say at the start of week 3 I have the following record:

Week 1: Oakland favoured by 7.5 points

Week 2: Miami underdog by 3.5 points

Chicken Index at the start of week 3 is: 4

Game spreads will be taken from the ESPN.com spreads on Friday morning. For games that happen on a Thursday the spread will be taken at 12pm EST the day of the game.

The GRAND prize winner will the player with the lowest 'Chicken Index'. He will get 75% of the pot with any remaining players splitting the other 25%. If more than 1 player share the lowest 'Chicken Index' the pot will be split evenly among those players.

HOW TO PLAY:

All picks and general mockery will be conducted through the Eliminizer website.

You will have the opportunity on the site to choose a default team that will be automatically submitted in the event you don't make your pick on time. However, if you have already played your default team, you are SOL.
